Former Employee of Abbotsford Auto Parts Store Sentenced for Theft

-A former employee from an Abbotsford auto parts store was sentenced in Clark County Court on Tuesday for theft of the store he was employed with.According to investigators, 51-year-old Kirk Kalepp stole close to $70,000 from the business. The incident happened over six years with various amounts taken from 2008 up to 2014. Kalepp would falsify return slips and pocket the money. Kalepp was charged with theft of a business setting.
The NAPA Auto Parts Store contacted the Abby Police Department in December of last year, concerned that this was happening. A surveillance video showed Kalepp taking the money out of the drawer when the other employees were not around. Kalepp did admit to the crime, saying he needed the money for credit card debt and medical bills.
Kalepp was sentenced to six months in jail on Tuesday and owes the court over $800.
