Granton School Board Approves Choir Requests

-The Granton School Board approved Choir requests and more at their meeting on Monday.The board approved a request for an "Out-of State/Over Night" field trip to allow four members of the Granton Choir to attend the Dorian Honors Music Festival in Decorah, IA. on January 12th. The four members of the Granton Choir were invited to participate in the festival based on auditions. The members are Montana Elmhorst, Sheryl Sebesta, Brianna Hartwich and Angela Nickel. The school board also took the opportunity to publicly and formally to thank Mr. Anderson for his hard work in revitalizing the choir program.
The board also approved the high school choir to travel to Chanhassen, MN. The choir members will travel to Chanhassen, MN to attend a dinner theater production of "Hello Dolly". The trip is scheduled for December 20th.
The school board also approved a Substitute Teacher pay rate increase from $87 to $95. According to a survey produced by CESA10, Granton had the second lowest pay rate in the CESA 10 service area.
