-A local business is giving up a day to help out the dogs rescued from a puppy mill by the Clark County Humane Society. On Monday of this week, 28 adult dogs were taken into the shelter after being rescued on Monday. Some of the dogs were not in the best shape as they had never been groomed had long nails, poor teeth, infections and other issues.
To help get these dogs looking their best, in better health and ready to go to new homes, two professional groomers of Happy Tails Grooming, LLC of Withee, Alayna Zittlow of Withee and Liz Hinman of Medford, are donating a day to the Clark County Humane Society to come and groom the dogs.
Cindi Zittlow of Withee, said that because many of these dogs have never been to a groomer "an incredible amount of patience and energy is required from a groomer." She continued saying, "I'm so proud that these young ladies are willing to extend a helping hand for the animals they love."
The Clark County Humane Society said the dogs should be available for adoption in a couple weeks, but if you're interested you should begin the adoption paperwork now. They'd like to have the animals in homes by the holiday. Also, the Humane Society could still use a lot of help from people caring for the dogs, donating supplies or providing financial assistance.
