Cheese Production in Wisconsin Increased in October

Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Total cheese production in the Dairy State increased in October for the second month in a row.The USDA reports that Wisconsin's dairy plants produced 252 million pounds of cheese during the month, which was up 2.1 percent from October 2013, and 4.4 percent more compared to this past September.
Nationally, 977 million pounds of cheese was produced. That was 2.9 percent more than the same month last year, and 3.5 percent above the previous month's production totals.
Dry Whey output in Wisconsin was recorded at 21.1 million pounds, which was down 1.8 percent from last year, and 0.4 percent lower from last month.
