Clark County Board Approves Dues for Wisconsin Counties Association

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved their dues for the Wisconsin Counties Association.Clark County has been a member in the past and the board approved the dues to be a member again for 2015. The cost is $6,436. The board also approved a resolution offering condolences to the family of Carl Jakel, a former Board member.
The next resolution passed by the board re-classified several different funds as committed funds as opposed to special revenue funds. The Governmental Accounting Standards Board issued a statement, Fund Balance Reporting and Governmental Fund Type Definitions, which changed terminology used for fund balancing reporting.
Five different fund balance classifications were established including non-spendable, restricted, committed, assigned and unassigned. The statement does not allow an unassigned fund balance except in the general fund. The county had to approve this resolution so a long list of special revenue funds were re-classified as committed funds.
Finally, the board approved an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for debt collection services, so if the county needs to collect money from someone, they can ask the Department of Revenue for assistance.
