Clark County Board of Supervisors Hears Update on Emergency Communication System Upgrade, Part 4

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard an update on the county's Emergency Communication System Upgrade.Clark County Emergency Management Director, John Ross, talked about outside support that will be needed including Information Systems Support. The county will need support and assistance from Xerox and local managers and staff, they'll need to provide information regarding local systems, review proposed solutions for compatibility and options for connecting other county facilities and they will play a major role in determining best options for site connectivity in the communications system and may be able to utilize this connectivity to meet county facility needs.
John also talked about the different funding options. The county plans to apply for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The county board has also approved John to work with the Clark County ESA on a regional application to help fund the project. The ESA approved participation in the grant and the Greenwood Fire Department will be the host applicant.
The maximum award is $2 million and eligible expenditures will be outlined in grant guidance when released.
