Governor Walker Announces Fast Forward Grant at Opportunity Development Center in Marshfield

-Governor Scott Walker was in Marshfield at Opportunity Development Center, Inc. to announce the Fast Forward Grant for the facility.ODC delivers superior contract manufacturing and service outsource solutions to businesses, while creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The Fast Forward grants are worker training grants to help more than 200 persons with disabilities develop demand-driven skills to reach their employment goals. The grants are supported through Governor Walker's $35.4 million Wisconsin Fast Forward: Blueprint for Prosperity initiative.
Governor Walker said, "This year, we proclaimed the Year of A Better Bottom Line to encourage and promote employment opportunities for people with disabilities. I am pleased to announce additional support to prepare more than 200 workers with disabilities for careers across Wisconsin. Not only will this help workers, but with their diverse strengths and skills, it will improve a company's bottom line and spur economic growth." He also called ODC, "a leader for, not only the State of Wisconsin, but the country as well."
Representative of the 69th Assembly District, Bob Kulp, was also on hand and is very pleased with the Fast Forward Grants.
Representative Kulp said, "I think this program at ODC is just phenomenal. The way that they take people that are otherwise disadvantaged or disabled and make them an asset in the community and give them the dignity that comes from work is phenomenal. I've known about ODC for a couple of decades and I really can't speak highly enough of everything that they do here. I'm really glad the governor could come today to unveil the grant, but this is just a phenomenal thing."
ODC in Marshfield will be receiving $57,435 of the $600,000 being given in away in worker training Fast Forward Grants.
