Calvary Lutheran Church Continuing Thanksgiving Dinner Tradition
Monday, November 10th, 2014 -- 9:23 AM
-Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville is continuing a wonderful tradition again this year.Calvary's church council agreed to host the Thanksgiving Dinner which used to be put together by the Methodist Church. But, with the Methodist Church's closing it was worried that the tradition would die or a new venue would be needed.
Peggy Erickson said that they are expecting around 200 people for the meal and they will serve the usual Thanksgiving spread in a buffet style. Every year, many people call in to have their meal delivered which Calvary will gladly do. However, for those that do call in, Calvary will ask them if they'd like to be picked up and brought to the church for the meal.
Peggy also said they need volunteers to help with the event. They need volunteers for the work day being held on the 26th and they need volunteers for the meal on Thanksgiving, the 27th. She said whatever time people can donate, they will take.
If you'd like to learn more, you can call the church at 715-743-2225 and leave a message.
