Clark County Workforce Council Holds First Kick Start Your Career Bus Tour

-Clark County Workforce Council held the first Kick Start Your Career Bus tour on October 22nd.The Kick Start tour was created to inform Clark County students what the County has to offer for their future employment. The Kick Start Tour took 3 buses with 137 students and 8 chaperones to manufacturing plants in 4 different Clark County communities.
The manufacturing plants visited were: Decorator Industries-Abbotsford, Meyer Manufacturing-Dorchester, Parrett Windows & Doors-Dorchester, Wisconsin Bench Manufacturing-Thorp, Industrial Fabricators-Thorp, Birchwood Best Masonite-Thorp, Cummins Filtration-Neillsville, MEC-Neillsville, and OEM Fabricators-Neillsville.
Tours were given in each of the facilities showing all the different employment opportunities available. The day ended at the Loyal American Legion with CVTC Campus Manager Angela Stadler who did a presentation for the students on "soft skills" that employers are looking for.
The Clark County Workforce Council was started in 2012 with business leaders, CCEDC, educators, and city leaders working together to create a 3-year call to action to educate each other on what Clark County has to offer in jobs/careers.
