Wisconsin Public Service Corporation's Customers To Pay More
Saturday, November 8th, 2014 -- 8:22 AM
Wisconsin Public Service Corporation's electric customers will pay about $3 more per month under a rate plan state regulators have approved.WPSC asked the state Public Service Commission for permission to increase its fixed monthly rates from $10.44 to $25 and reduce its hourly usage fee by about 2 cents per hour.
The PSC on Thursday voted 2-1 to approve the proposal but reduced the monthly rate increase to $9 rather than the $15 the utility wanted.
When the usage fee decrease is figured in, the PSC estimates the average residential customer who uses 600 kilowatt hours of electricity per month will have to pay about $3.40 more per month compared to this year's rates.
WPSC serves about 443,700 customers in northeastern and north-central Wisconsin
