Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest In Wood County

A traffic stop in Auburndale on Wednesday leads to an arrest for possession of heroin.The Wood County Sheriff's Department deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on State Hwy 186 in the Town of Auburndale when almost 15 grams of heroin were located.
Wood County Sheriff's Department K-9 Rex alerted to the odor of an illegal substance coming from the vehicle during the stop. Upon further investigation it was determined that the driver of the vehicle, Dartanyon Wallace had thrown the heroin out of the window while the vehicle was being stopped by law enforcement.
The street value of the confiscated heroin is estimated to be around $8000.
Wallace is still in custody in the Wood County jail.
