Granton School Board Approves Tax Levy at Annual Meeting

-The Granton School Board, and citizens present, approved the 2014-2015 tax levy for the district at their annual meeting on Monday.The district's general fund, or Fund 10, came to $915,043. The district's debt retirement fund, or Fund 39, came to $187,531. Finally, Fund 80, or the community service fund, came to $30,000. This gives the district a levy of $1,132,574. The district's mil rate come to $11.53 which is a $.20 decrease from last year's $11.73.
The board and citizens also approved the school board salaries for the next school year and they will remain the same as last year. The board and citizens also approved providing milk at milk break for grades K-5th.
Finally, short term borrowing for operations of the school was approved, the sale of district property was authorized and a facilities update was heard.
