Owen-Withee School Board Discusses Handbook
Tuesday, October 28th, 2014 -- 8:23 AM
-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed some hand book changes at their meeting last week.Administration had asked the board to consider a change to the Support Staff Handbook in regards to health care benefits. The change requested would be, "Any support staff person hired after September 1, 2014 who does not work 30 hours per week will not be eligible for the district's healthcare benefit." The board delayed action on the item to allow them to discuss further and seek input on the change.
Also, as part of an initiative of the Clark County Board Forum, the board is looking at creating a resolution to forward on to state legislators regarding the funding issues that are plaguing public schools. Several sample resolutions were reviewed and discussed. Action on this item was delayed until November so that an Owen-Withee version of the solution can be crafted.
During the communications portion of the meeting, Julie Wendler read a card from the OW Youth Football and Cheer organization thanking the district for allowing them to use the school facilities and lights throughout the season. A generous $100 donation to the district was included in the card.
