Neillsville Finance Committee Prepares 2015 Budget, Recreation, Library and Economic Development

-The Neillsville Finance Committee has been meeting for the past couple weeks to create the 2015 budget for the city.During a Finance Committee meeting held on October 9th, the committee heard the budget for the Recreation Department. Their budget increased slightly from $67,521 in 2014 to $68,311 in 2015. The increase was mainly in the salary line of the budget. The recreation budget has two divisions: administration and programing. The school district of Neillsville pays 50% of the administration costs and the city handles the other 50% as well as the programming.
The Library budget was also presented. They came in at the exact same amount as last year which is $117,101. Economic Development also presented their budget which had a slight increase from 2014's $54,800 to 2015's $55,300. The $500 increase was in the Central Wisconsin Horse Sale line of the budget.
A public hearing for the 2015 budget will be held during the first common council meeting in November.
