Owen City Council Hears Police and Public Works Reports

-The Owen City Council heard the Police Report and the Public Works Report at their meeting on Tuesday of last week.The Owen Police Department continues to enforce truck traffic going over the wooden bridge and more signage to Roehl and Kerry was suggested. Chief Schade also announced that he has promoted one of his officers to Sergeant as of October 1st.
For public works, it was reported that the city is still waiting for a permit from the DNR regarding culverts on Willow and it was reported that MSA has determined the project on 4th Street, from the rail road to North Paul Avenue, has come in at $681,000.
The DNR completed their annual inspection of the city's water system and all is satisfactory, the city has completed flushing of the water mains and hydrants and the annual exercising of the valves has also been completed. Finally, Public Works had the sewer jetter out and they cleaned some sewer mains of tree roots.
