-The Neillsville Finance Committee has been meeting for the past couple weeks to creat the 2015 budget for the city.During a Finance Committee meeting held on October 7th, the committee heard the budget for the cemetery. The cemetery's budget decreased by $22,000 from $86,523 in 2014 to $64,523 in 2015 and this decrease occurred in the equipment line of the budget. The cemetery had to buy a new skid steer this year.
The Parks budget saw a decrease of $22,000 in their 2015 budget as well from 2014's $79,655 in $57,655 in 2015. This too was because of the skid steer which the parks department will use as well as the cemetery.
The airport budget decreased from 2014's $25,060 to 2015's $24,360 and the airport outlay budget remained the same at $5,000. The net taxi service placed on the city levy for 2015 came to $70,557, the Beautification Committee's budget remained the same at $1,700, the Heritage Days Committee's budget decreased from $1,750 in 2014 to $1,500 in 2015 and the Historic Preservation Commission's budget remained the same at $1,900.
A public hearing for the 2015 budget will be held during the first common council meeting in November.
