Marshfield Man Arrested in Sex Sting

-An online sex sting, originating with the Brown County Sheriff's Department, has resulted in over 20 arrests throughout Wisconsin.The purpose of the three day sting was to target child predators. Members of the Brown County Sheriff's Department posed as children on Craigslist and sent advertisements to counties throughout the state. If someone wanted to meet up, that county's department would make an arrest.
Several Wisconsin Police and Sherif''s Departments were involved with the sting including Marathon. The Marathon County Sheriff's Department arrested several men in Wausau and Rib Mountain and even arrested 29-year-old Jason Scheel of Marshfield. He was charged in Marathon County Court with use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime.
This is the 5th time an online sting has been conducted in Wisconsin. They began in 2012 and have resulted in dozens of arrests.
