-A Jackson County Correctional Institution employee has reached a plea deal in her case regarding her delivering cell phones to inmates.According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, staff members at the prison recovered two cell phones from inmates in the facility. Investigators traced the phones to 52-year-old Karen Robertson from Sparta who was providing drug and alcohol counseling at the prison.
Investigators said that Robertson delivered the phones to the inmates and they would find ways to pay her for them. During a final pre-trial conference on Monday, attorneys on both sides said they have reached an agreement in the case.
