NEW INFO: Structure Fire at Downtown Neillsville Bar

-A fire early Sunday morning in downtown Neillsville caused extensive damage to Buck?s Dollar Bar at 620 Hewett Street.According to a press release from Neillsville Police Chief Scott Klueckmann, the Clark County Sheriff?s Department Dispatch Center received a call just before 6:30am on Sunday morning of a structure fire at Buck?s.
The Neillsville Fire Department was dispatched to extinguish the flames and they received mutual aid from Granton, Loyal, Greenwood and Spencer. Officers from the Clark County Sheriff?s Department and Neillsville Police Department provided scene security and traffic direction.
Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer said there were people in the two apartments above the bar, but they were able to get out safely and were uninjured. The structure is considered a total loss and will have to be torn down.
Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation and State Fire Marshal?s Office are assisting in the investigation. Further information will be released by the Neillsville Police Department when it becomes available.
