Saturday, October 11th, 2014 -- 8:19 AM
The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard the proposed 2015 budget for the county on Thursday of last week.To recap, the Clark County Finance Committee had to look at many different factors in preparing the budget for 2015 and it?s looking beyond as well.
The main concerns for next year?s budget include the diminished road construction and deteriorating road, the public safety communication system, IT and technology replacements at the courthouse and health care center, continued delays in capital expenditures for some departments, health insurance, unexpected expenditures, federal and state budget concerns, declining fund balances and declining revenues, wage increases and more.
There are also large projects that many departments? projected coming up in 2016 and beyond that the county may struggle to pay for. The county and Finance Committee is also doing what it can to keep the general fund steady, keep they levy and taxes low and continue to provide services for the county.
The budget public hearing, amendments and adoption will take place on November 11th
