Former Cadott Basketball Coach Appears in Chippewa County Court for Sexual Assault

-A former Cadott Girls Basketball Coach charged with sexual assault appeared in Chippewa County Court Tuesday afternoon.According to the Cadott Police Department, at the beginning of 2014 they received information from the Cadott School District that the Girls Basketball Coach, 30-year-old Andrew Hungerholt, resigned from his coaching position, citing personal reasons. Additional information surrounding Hungerholt's resignation led to an investigation revealing his physical involvement with a player on his team, who is under the age of 18.
Through investigating it was learned that there were several occasions when Hungerholt and the juvenile female had met in private where, according to interviews with both parties, they had kissed and had sexual contact in the juvenile's vehicle on at least one of those occasions in Chippewa County. Additional contact had occurred between the two in both Eau Claire and Fall Creek, according to Hungerholt and the juvenile.
Hungerholt appeared in court for an arraignment on Tuesday. He pleaded not guilty and a status conference and jury trial will be set in the near future.
