Opponents of Wisconsin Voter ID Law File Emergency Motion to Stay a Ruling

-Opponents of Wisconsin's voter photo identification law want a federal appeals court to stay a ruling declaring the mandate constitutional.A three-judge panel from the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday that the law was valid. The decision was all but expected after the court in September said the state could implement the requirement while it considered the case. The American Civil Liberties Union and the Advancement Project have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to take emergency action and block the law.
On Tuesday the ACLU and the League of United Latin American Citizens filed an emergency motion with the 7th Circuit asking the court to stay Monday's decision pending a filing asking for a rehearing in front of the entire court.
