Clark County Board of Supervisors Looks at Proposed 2015 Budget, Part 2

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard the proposed 2015 budget for the county on Thursday evening.The Clark County Finance Committee had to look at many different factors in preparing the budget for 2015 and most factors, including the cost of road construction, the possible build of a new communication system, health insurance and more, make the process very difficult to keep the county financially sound and allow it to continue providing basic services.
For 2015, the proposed budget comes to 57,317,637 which is a 2.33% decrease compared to last year?s 58,686,069.
In terms of the levy, that amount comes to 13,806,487 with a tax rate of 7.64, meaning that if you own a $100,000 home, you?ll pay $14.45 in county taxes for 2015. This is an increase of .1445% compared to last year?s levy of 13,348,544 and tax rate of 7.49.
The budget public hearing, amendments and adoption will take place on November 11th.
