Neillsville City Council Hears Airport and Beautification Reports as Departments Prepare for 2015 Budget

-The Neillsville City Council went over many committee and department reports at their meeting on Tuesday of last week as each department prepares for the city?s 2015 budget.The council heard the Airport Commission report from their meeting held on September 18th. The commission heard about the runway construction project scheduled for 2015. It is currently in the design phase, but once it?s completed the committee will then be given three options based on funding available.
The project will mostly be covered by airport aids on the federal level, 90%, then the state, 5%, then the city, 5%. The City of Neillsville is looking at a cost of $50,000 for their part in the project.
The commission also thanked Clark County for the $10,000 toward capital improvements. As for the airport?s budget, it has been projected at $24,360.54 for 2015, a decrease of $700.
The council also heard the Beautification Committee report from their meeting on September 18th. The committee talked about fall and winter decorations, discussed the spring hanging baskets and decided to keep their budget for 2015 the same as 2014.
