Clark County Emergency Management Department Launches Facebook Page
Thursday, March 25th, 2021 -- 11:00 AM
On March 24, Clark County Emergency Management launched a new Facebook page in an effort to help keep the community informed.
The purpose of the page is to provide outreach materials to help people plan and prepare for, as well as respond to disasters. It will be used to share information during awareness campaigns such as Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week, September Preparedness Month and Winter Weather Awareness Week among others.
“It is our hope that users of Facebook will follow our page and use the information provided to become educated about the hazards we face and ways to mitigate the possible impacts. This will also hopefully help residents develop safety plans to respond to a disaster which may occur,” stated John Ross, Clark County Emergency Management Director.
This page, along with other sources of emergency and non-emergency information, will hopefully give users another tool to maintain awareness and keep themselves as safe as possible.
It is not intended to replace other sources of information such as local media, NOAA All-Hazards radio and other alerting options; it is intended to supplement them. The Facebook page can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/emergencymanagementclarkcowi
