Unemployment Rate Drops in Every Wisconsin County

-Unemployment fell in every Wisconsin city and county last month.The state Department of Workforce Development reported Wednesday that unemployment dropped in all of the 32 largest cities and in all 72 counties in August compared with July.
Menominee County had the highest unemployment among all the counties at 15.3 percent, down from 18.3 percent the previous month. Dane County had the lowest at 3.5 percent, down from 4 percent.
Clark County had an unemployment rate of 4.7% compared to 5.4% in July and 6% in August of 2013. Clark County ranks 46 out of 72 in terms of unemployment.
For our surrounding counties, Chippewa is at 4.6%, 4.6% for Eau Claire, 5.7% for Jackson, 5.9% for Wood, Marathon is at 4.9% and Taylor is at 4.8%.
The state's overall unemployment rate in July was 5.6 percent, the lowest it's been since 2008.
