Wisconsin Officials Have Until Tuesday in Reconsidering Voter ID Decision

-Wisconsin officials have been given until Tuesday to respond to a request that a federal appeals court reconsider its decision to reinstate a requirement that voters show photo identification at the polls.The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals set the deadline to respond on Wednesday, hours after opponents of the law asked for a new hearing.
Last week a three-judge panel on the appeals court allowed for reinstatement of the law, so voters will have to present photo identification on Nov. 4. The American Civil Liberties Union and the Advancement Project are now asking that the full 7th Circuit reconsider the case, with the election less than seven weeks away.
The court rarely grants such requests.
