Area Schools Score Very Well on Report Cards

-Report cards for Wisconsin schools and school districts show that the majority meet or exceed expectations for student achievement and academic engagement in the 2013-14 school year.Overall, 88.3% of schools and 98.1% of districts with accountability scores had ratings of meets expectations or better. This is the second year for district report cards and the third year for school report cards.
Both evaluate schools and districts in four priority areas: student achievement in reading and mathematics on statewide assessments; student growth in those assessed areas; closing gaps for reading and mathematics achievement and graduation, based on student subgroups; and postsecondary readiness, which uses several measures as predictors of college and career readiness.
For schools in our area, Neillsville scored 71.6, Granton had 71.5, Loyal had 70.8, 71.1 for Greenwood, 71 for Owen-Withee, 71.1 for Thorp, Colby scored 72.7, Abbotsford scored 71.2 and Spencer scored 70.8 with all schools falling in the meets expectations category.
For other schools in the surrounding counties, Stanley-Boyd scored 75.9, Osseo-Fairchild scored 67.6, 65.2 for Black River Falls, 69 for Pittsville, 73.6 for Marshfield and Medford scored 71.1 with most of these schools falling into the meets expectations category and Stanley-Boyd and Marshfield fall into the exceeds expectations category.
