Greenwood Man Pleads Not Guilty to Sexual Assault

-A Greenwood man pleaded not guilty to 2nd degree sexual assault of a child in Clark County Court on Wednesday.According to the criminal complaint, in April, 36-year-old Ehrin Scott entered the bedroom of the 14-year-old victim and had intercourse with the individual. Scott apparently lived in the residence with the parents of the victim. When called into the Greenwood Police Department, Scott admitted to an officer that he had sex with the victim and he was placed under arrest.
During an arraignment on Wednesday, Scott entered a not guilty plea to the charge filed against him. His $10,000 cash bond was reduced to $5,000 after an agreement between the state and defense was reached. If convicted of the maximum amount, Scott could face 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine. He?ll appear in court again next month.
