-Several area schools districts received the Title I School of Recognition award. One of those schools is the Greenwood Elementary School. Greenwood?s Superintendent, Jennifer Vogler, is very happy to start off the new school year with this award.
Miss Vogler said, "We're very excited. This is the 5th year in a row that we're receiving this award. That's a huge accomplishment for our students and our faculty members and just an overall huge accomplishment for the Greenwood community."
"We've received the award because our Greenwood Elementary School is in the top 25% of high poverty schools in the state. We have above average student achievement in reading and mathematics compared to schools in similarly sized districts, schools, grade configurations and poverty levels."
"We've done very well. In our state test scores, WKCE, state report cards and we're just very proud of all our accomplishments. Though it's the elementary that's being recognized, it's an accomplishment for all of our elementary, middle and high school students and faculty members."
Some other area school districts recognized with this award include Granton, Owen-Withee and Abbotsford.
