High Speed Chase In Stevens Point

A woman led police on a high-speed chase in Stevens Point for a short time Friday afternoon. According to WSAU.com, Stevens Point Police Sergeant Tony Babl says officers were trying to locate a woman to check on her welfare. When they located her vehicle near Exit 161 on Interstate 39, she took off at a high rate of speed. The chase led them towards downtown, where officers stopped her at Division and 6th Streets. There were no injuries. The woman was taken into custody at 1:29 p.m. and taken to St. Michael?s Hospital for a medical evaluation.
