Neillsville School Board Annual Meeting Notes
Saturday, August 30th, 2014 -- 8:08 AM
The Neillsville School Board held its Annual Meeting on Monday night. There are several numbers that District Administrator John Gaier highlighted in the multi-page booklet regarding the district?s budget. Keep in mind, that some of the figures for the 2014-2015 school year are estimated until Neillsville is told how much state aid they?ll receive. This will take place after the 3rd Friday count in October.
For total revenue and other financing sources, the district is looking at a total of $10,614,857, a slight increase from last year. Mr. Gaier also mentioned $700,000 in expenses that are put towards the district?s special education programs. That money has to come out of the regular budget in order to fund the program. The total for expenditures and other financing uses for the new school year is estimated at $10,614,857 which is a 2.3% increase over last year.
A couple other budget numbers Mr. Gaier mentioned included the fact that the Neillsville School District is debt free and that the Food Service fund is now running in the black when, just a few years ago, it was operating in the red.
