Early Morning Storm Causes Damage in Granton

-Was it a tornado that caused some storm damage in the Granton area on Monday?According to the National Weather Service, no. John Ross, Clark County?s Emergency Management Director said that the National Weather Service was in Granton on Monday and they said it was just straight line winds that roared through the area at 70 to 75 miles per hour.
Early Monday morning, a line of storms moved through the area causing some damage in Granton as well as the Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids area. The storm knocked down some power lines, up rooted some trees and caused slight damage to a shed.
Power was restored to Granton customers yesterday and the cleanup began as well. The storms were a result of several days of high heat and humidity that has finally broken today.
