Woman Pleads Guilty to the Death of 22-Month-Old

-A 23-year-old woman has pleaded guilty regarding the death of a 22-month-old girl.Back in June of 2013, police responded to a medical emergency call about Alexis Behlke, being unresponsive. 23-year-old Amanda Butts had been watching the girl, her boyfriend?s daughter, that morning. Behlke was rushed to Mayo Health System Osseo, but was pronounced dead a short while later.
The Osseo Police arrested Butts at the end of July. According to the criminal complaint, Behlke died from acute intoxication from the combined effects of oxycodone, an antihistamine and an anti-depressant. Investigators found bruises on the child's body, and blunt force trauma to her head, chest, arms, and legs.
During a plea hearing on Monday, Butts was found guilty, due to a guilty plea, of 1st degree reckless homicide and was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, of physical abuse of a child. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered and a telephonic scheduling conference was set for the beginning of September and a sentencing date will be set during that conference.
