Greenwood Man Appears in Clark County Court for Sexual Assault

-A Greenwood man appeared in Clark County Court on Thursday morning for a preliminary hearing regarding his child sexual assault case.According to the criminal complaint, in April, 36-year-old Ehrin Scott entered the bedroom of the 14-year-old victim and had intercourse with the individual. Scott apparently lived in the residence with the parents of the victim. When called into the Greenwood Police Department, Scott admitted to an officer that he had sex with the victim and he was placed under arrest.
After hearing from Greenwood Police Officer Andrew Kohnert, probable cause was found and the court proceedings will continue. Scott will appear in court again next month.
Scott is currently in jail on a $10,000 cash bail and he?s been charged with one count of sexual assault of a child, a felony. If convicted of the maximum amount, he could face 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
