Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Grass Fire

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a grass fire Monday afternoon.
According to the department, the call came in just before 4pm. They received a call about a grass fire at Sand Road and Owen Avenue in the Township of Grant. The owner of the property was burning some old hay and the fire spread.
It didn’t burn a large area of land. The fire was called in by the DNR fire watch plane. The DNR uses a plane to spot fires when the fire danger is high. The department was on scene for an hour, they had no injuries on their part, and they didn’t receive any mutual aid.
