Black River Falls Man Sentenced for OWI with a Child in the Car in Jackson County Court

Friday, August 1st, 2014 -- 8:22 AM

-A Black River Falls man was sentenced for charges of drunken driving with a child in the car on Thursday in Jackson County Court.

Earlier this year, the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to assist 47-year-old Lance Rave after he locked his keys in his vehicle, locking his two-year-old child in the vehicle as well. While the trooper was helping Rave, he detected the odor of alcohol on the driver and saw open containers of alcohol in the vehicle.

After preforming field sobriety tests on Rave, he promptly arrested him and charged him with OWI, 1st Offense with a child less than 16 year of age. The child was released to responsible family members.

Rave pleaded guilty to 1st offense OWI and his 1st offense operating with a PAC with a child in the car was dismissed, but read in. Rave owes the courts over $800, had his license revoked for 6 months and must complete an alcohol assessment and driver safety plan.
