Neillsville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Resigning, Final

Friday, July 25th, 2014 -- 1:16 PM

-The Neillsville Chamber of Commerce will soon say goodbye to their Executive Director.

Deanna Heiman said she is very proud of the things the chamber has accomplished during her time as Executive Director.

Deanna said, "The Chamber has truly made a positive impact on the community through its work. We've written grants for various projects and picked up the cost of the labor through our own budget. In the past three years, we sponsored such things as a two-year billboard campaign promoting outdoor recreation and featuring Scott Swita, a Discover Wisconsin episode focused on ATVing, the Shop Local 30 Campaign, healthy cooking classes and a marketing blitz through TravelHost Magazine. For our member businesses, we partnered with CVTC to offer marketing courses, we brought in an expert to present business growth workshops and we continue to sponsor the monthly business marketing Kaffee Klatsch. On of my favorite fun accomplishments was the growing of the popular Pumpkin Patch Party at Tufts' Mansion to include the entire downtown area in the Autumn Harvest Celebration. What a fun annual event! I'm sure I've left many things out, but that give you an idea of the whirlwind that the chamber leadership team has managed the past three years."

Deanna offered some advice to her successor.

"Try not to get overwhelmed," she said. "There are many opportunities out there and it's exciting to hear all the ideas people present on a daily basis, but it's easy to get overwhelmed. Also, make sure to lean on the chamber leadership team. We have a wonderful group of directors and ambassadors who are there to keep things on track and lend a hand when needed."

Deanna said she is very grateful for all the support and help from many wonderful people during her time as Executive Director.

Deanna said, "I am extremely grateful for the support of the chamber directors and ambassadors. They are the backbone of the organization and the executive director's lifeline. I am extremely grateful for the support of the City of Neillsville throughout my tenure, especially the mayor and city council. I'm hesitant to list others for fear I will forget someone, so let me just say I've truly enjoyed my time in this chair and I look forward to serving the community on the other side of this desk in the future."

The chamber has already interviewed candidates for the position.
