Portage County Man Arrested for Child Enticement Appears in Clark County Court

-A Portage County man arrested in Thorp for child enticement and use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime appeared in Clark County Court on Thursday.According to the Clark County Sheriff?s Department, back in June 48-year-old Randy Scott came to the City of Thorp expecting to meet an underage girl, but he was met by officers instead.
Scott had exchanged messages with what he believed was an underage girl. In the conversation, he had indicated that he wanted to have sex with the girl, get her pregnant and then take her back to his home where they would live together. Scott initially denied saying that in the conversation, but later admitted to it.
Scott appeared in court for an initial appearance on Thursday. He waived the reading of the complaint and the time limits for a preliminary hearing. He will appear in court again in August.
Scott is currently in the Clark County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond and has been charged with Child Enticement and Use of a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime.
