The Neillsville School Board Talks Referendum and Employment Matters

-The Neillsville School Board discussed a possible referendum being on the November 4th election ballot.

If the board decides to proceed with a referendum, it would be $300,000 each year for the next 5 years. The board will decide at their August meeting whether or not the referendum will be on the ballot.

In employment matters, the board approved a wage increases for support staff for the 2014-2015 school year, approved a contract and addendum for Mark Brommer for the chemistry/physics teacher position, approved a contract for Charles Caldwell for the special education teacher position and approved Logan Grap for the assistant football coach position.

Finally, the board heard an Administrators? Report from Neillsville?s District Administrator John Gaier. Mr. Gaier reported on the 2014-2015 school calendar, a thank you note from Mary Lou England, a thank you note from the Chamber, a possible baseball co-op, a Wisconsin Budget Project article, a Supreme Court decision, a US Dept. of Labor ruling, two Focus articles, the WASB Fall Regional Meeting, three Journal Sentinel articles, rural broadband internet, transportation aid, CVTC?s mobile manufacturing virtual lab and a Journal Times article.
