Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014 -- 11:53 AM
-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators? Reports at their meeting on Monday of last week.Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor reported on the progress of summer school, which will end on July 25th and the Elementary Professional Leadership team met to plan the staff activities for the 2014-15 school year.
District Administrator Bob Houts addressed the absence of the second reading of the 600 series of district policies which should have been on the July agenda. The second reading will take place in August.
He also brought forward a proposal from Unison Corporation to buy the cell tower lease the district has. The offer was a one-time purchase for $58,500 which is equal to about 7.5 years of the lease payments the district is currently receiving.
Finally, Mr. Houts brought up the idea of moving the October Board meeting one week later to allow for the setting of the 2014-15 tax levy without having to schedule a special board meeting. The board seemed in favor of the idea so he will put the idea on the August agenda.
