Monday, July 21st, 2014 -- 12:41 PM
-The candidates for the Clark County Fairest of the Fair met at Tuft?s Mansion on Wednesday afternoon.I spoke with Caroline Wolf, the current Fairest of the Fair, as she spoke about the many events they participated in during her time as Fairest of the Fair.
Miss Wolf said, "Kelsey and I, my first attendant, we went and were able to talk with 3rd graders in Greenwood, Loyal, Granton and Neillsville. So, we talked to them about 4-H, FFA and all about the fair. We're trying to get more kids involved and talk to them about projects they take and what they'd like to be involved in. We tried to encourage more youth to get involved with that by telling kids to bring their families."
"The whole month of June, every Sunday we attended a dairy breakfast. So, every Sunday we always had good food to eat! But usually right after that, we headed off to a parade. And some Sundays we even went to a dairy breakfast, ate, helped a little bit and then he had two parades. So, it has been very busy."
"Up until now, almost every Sunday we've had a parade and a queen's tea either afterwards or beforehand and then a coronation earlier in the week. So, we've been going to everything. That's what we've been doing which is what will be going on up to this year's fair, which is August 6th through the 10th."
The Fairest of the Fair coronation is taking place on August 6th, the night before the official first day of the fair on August 7th, at 7:30pm at the Clark County Fairgrounds. The public is welcome to attend.
