Clark County Workforce Council's Message is Clear: Clark County Has Jobs, Part 2

Friday, July 18th, 2014 -- 10:21 AM

-A team of business, education, clergy, workforce and economic development leaders organized under the Clark County Workforce Council have been meeting the past 14 months to create a long term, step-by-step strategy to increase our employee base, grow our companies, communities, residents and school student numbers.

With over 241 jobs open in Clark County, the Workforce Council decided they needed a way to show people about the different jobs available at the businesses in Clark County. When many people think of a place like OEM here in Neillsville, they think it?s just a welding place. When they think of a cheese plant, they think of someone in white stirring a vat of cheese.

That?s not the case, however. There are many different positions available in each business from HR, to dispatch, to lab technicians, inventory control managers, plant managers, designers, fabricators and more. Places like OEM have more than 17 job descriptions, over 13 at Abbyland Trucking and Distribution in Abbotsford, and over 14 in Wisconsin Bench in Thorp.

The Workforce Council decided to shoot and create videos of the different types of jobs available in Clark County businesses. The council enlisted the talent of two locals, including Mark Larson of Magic Marker Creations and Riley Hebert, the News Director of WCCN to create the videos.
