Owen-Withee School Board Decides to Not Vote on Allowing Students to Participate in Two Sports at the Same Time

-The Owen-Withee School Board decided to note vote on allowing Owen-Withee Students to participate in two sports at the same time.This idea was brought up at their last meeting and the discussion continued at this one. The discussion started with the positive aspects of allowing gifted athletes the chance to show their abilities in more than one sport.
Most board members felt that this idea would be unfair to players and coaches who commit to a sport and practice every day. Conflicts with two sports having competition on the same day would also cause problems for teammates and coaches.
With most of the board members being opposed to the idea, the idea was not brought up for a vote.
