Owen City Council Continues to Monitor Truck Traffic on High Bridge

Wednesday, July 16th, 2014 -- 1:26 PM

-The Owen City Council continues to monitor truck traffic on high bridge.

Traffic on High Bridge over the last two weeks has been nonexistent, but it will continue to be monitored. Efforts are being made to contact GPS system suppliers to route truck traffic in from Cardinal, therefore avoiding High Bridge.

The council also approved allowing DB Wireless to rent a spot on Owen?s tower for $150 a month. They would also allow 3 lines of wireless internet to the city per month. The Fire Department would have the right to call for the removal of the wireless device if it interferes with their radio frequencies. Both parties could terminate the contract, upon allowing a recovery period and the contract will be sent for the city?s examination.

Finally, the council heard the CDA Report from CDA Director Tim Swiggum. On July 16th, the Golden Warriors will present their plan for the new store to Dollar General and no issues have been foreseen. He?s also working to find someone to lease space from Brian Bredlau, at his new location on the east side. Tim also mentioned that everyone is moved out of the Woodland and the Nikolays are looking to sell. Finally, he said there would be a door dedication at the Old School on Saturday.
