Industry Leaders Say Immigration Reform Is Essential

Saturday, July 12th, 2014 -- 7:33 AM

Manufacturing and agriculture industry leaders in Wisconsin say immigration reform is essential to their business.

Wisconsin Dairy Business Association spokeswoman Laurie Fischer says her organization wants to work with Congress to make sure there are workers who will stay in the Badger State and help run her members' farms.

Nestle USA pizza plant manager Marcus Brenneman in Little Chute says immigrants are essential to maintaining his workforce of 1,200.

He says about 30 percent of his employees are Hispanic or Hmong immigrants. Brenneman said with immigration reform, the country can continue to be what it has been for so long: a place where people from all over the world aspire to come and be part of a thriving economy.
