-This Saturday, during Neillsville?s Heritage Days, residents will have the chance to learn about their family history. The group, Remembering the Mormon Loggers, is having genealogist Kathy Englebretson teach a workshop on the history of Neillsville and Clark County and helping people discover the history of their family.
Kathy said that if you?re interested in genealogy, there are some great website you can use to find out about your history and the history of Clark County.
Kathy said, "There are some fantastic sites out there for finding out things about Clark County history. There is familysearch.org and ancestory.com. We have another fantastic site that I work with a lot with called "find a grave" which is trying to index all the cemeteries in the world by photographing the cemetery stones. All of these site are always looking for volunteers to help with some of the indexing and photograph taking. If anybody wants to learn how to do those things, so they can help promote genealogy, they're more than welcome to come and we'll show them how to do that as well."
The workshop is being held on Saturday in Schuster Park from 9am to 6pm.
