Thursday, July 10th, 2014 -- 10:23 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved a few important items during the public works portion of their meeting on Tuesday.

The council approved the purchase of a storage shed for the sewer department. The 10x12 shed is pre-made in Black River Falls and will be used to hold chemicals for the plant. The cost of the shed is $2,350. Dave Flynn, the Director of Public Works in Neillsville, also mentioned that, in the near future, they?re going to need to purchase a new truck for the sewer department.

The council also approved moving the August 12th Public Works Meeting a week ahead to the 5th due to the August Elections Primary.

The council also heard the public works report during the meeting. The usual amount of work occurred in the city the past couple weeks. The department has also gotten started on the Grand Avenue water main project. Finally, Dave wanted to offer his thanks to those that have stepped up and helped pay for the flowers in the city. He said they still need a little more help, but the support of those that have contributed is greatly appreciated.
