Winner of 53rd Annual June Dairy Month Recipe Contest Announced

-The 53rd Annual June Dairy Month Recipe Contest was held on June 18 at Loyal City Hall.This year the theme was ?Baked Breakfast Bars? and there were 14 entries. The winning recipe was submitted by Bailey Bravener, Loyal, entitled ?Easy Cheesy Breakfast Bake.? As the winner for this contest Bailey will be the chairperson for next year?s recipe contest and will have the honor of choosing the theme for the year.
The top 10 recipes will be put into a recipe booklet and will be available to the public after July 15th.
Special guest speakers included June Noeldner and Rachel McBride. Nasonville Dairy, Lynn Dairy, Holland Family Cheese, and North Hendren Dairy donated cheese for the event and Julie Poehnelt, Rick Sorensen, and Charlotte Tetzlaff were the event judges. Clark County UW-Extension organized the event with the Clark County Dairy Promotion hosting it.
All the individuals placing included Bailey Bravener in 1st, Reita Gelander in 2nd and Cain Toufer in 3rd. Maryanne Olson, Millie Grap, Marie Kaiser, Betty Loos, Irma Johnson, Diana Schutte and Avis Becker placed 4th through 10th respectively.
