Thorp Seniors Give Back to the Community

Thorp students are always finding innovative ways to give back to the community.
On Tuesday, March 9th, Thorp High School was a busy place. Freshmen were going through 16, 20-minute mini career studies with the CTE team. Sophomores were split into different classrooms in the high school where they took the Pre-ACT.
Juniors were in the Elementary Gym taking the ACT test. Seniors were in the high school Art classroom working on some community service projects. The Seniors started off by bringing in items for the food pantry that are not always donated.
They brought in shampoos, conditioners, toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex, cleaning supplies, soaps, and more. Their activities started with painting 15 terra cotta pots that will be planted and given to area Thorp residents. The students were very creative while painting bright and springy designs.
The students then went on to make about 70 spring cards that will also be shared with residents in Thorp. With a wonderful donation to help their next task, the students packed over 100 Hygiene Bags that will be shared with some homeless shelters in the Eau Claire Area.
The bags include one of each item; bar soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, lotion, sewing kit, and a mask.
